The dark pages of history speak of a legend which goes beyond the imagination of mankind. Eons ago, fresh after its creation , the World was trisected into three ‘plaga’ or regions namely Krondor,Emethril and Yoshinamo.Each plaga was ruled by an Emperor and the various creations of the celestial Lords co-existed in the World. The World, back then, was independent of time. The human race was free of age and enjoyed immortality. Man’s insatiable desire gradually showed its ugly head and the three plaga fought among themselves to establish their power.As a consequence of the great wars, many other creations of the Lords faced extinction. This infuriated the Lords, who showed their wrath on mankind by creating a parameter – “Time”.
The celestial Lords created three “Nefrulets” or “Dials of Time”.A nefrulet was assigned to each plaga apiece and the countdown of the nefrulet signified the approaching doom of the corresponding plaga.Man’s immortality was lost and time started showing its destructive nature. The three Emperors met and pleaded the Lords to relieve them of the curse. After great persuasion, the Lords commanded the Emperors to forge the “Elen Dureil”, the sword of the Commander of Time. The wielder of the sword had the power to control time. The sword was forged originally in order to destroy the three nefrulets,which would eventually eliminate the impending doomsday. The Emperors of Emethril and Yoshinomo destroyed their nefrulets and passed on the sword to the Emperor of Krondor.Alas,yet again ,man’s greed got the better of him and the Emperor of Krondor tried to seize power and establish himself as the Commander of Time. A great battle ensued in which the Lords took side with Emethril and Yoshinamo.The Emperor of Krondor was slain and the nefrulet was locked away in a mysterious chamber.
Fearing the repetition of such an attempt to seize power, the Elen Dureil was broken into three shards and dispersed across the surface of the World. The locations of the shards were kept secret by the Guardians of Tiemus.A trail of complex clues was laid out by the Guardians to reach the shards.However,with the passage of millions of years , the society of the Guardians disintegrated and became obscure. And, oh traveler, you might wonder what possible significance, this story, might hold today.
The nefrulet of Krondor,which was failed to be destroyed, is ticking away and would eventually come to a halt on a fateful day – December 21,2012 , spelling the doom of the era of Krondor.You,oh traveler,are entrusted with the daunting task of finding and destroying the nefrulet and saving the World from apocalypse. The task requires you to find and reunite the three shards and destroy the last nefrulet.
“The three shards of the Elen Dureil , when forged together , shall provide to the wielder of the sword , a portal to the chamber of time in which resideth the nefrulet of Krondor, in addition to treasures unspoken of.”
But before you set forth on your quest,you must prove your worthiness by clearing a series of levels designed to fortify your skills and prepare you for the perilous journey that lies ahead.These preliminary levels will constitute the first chapter of your story.
